My partner has a 1996 BMW 528i and it has a cracked head.I would like to know if it is possible to get this fixed - someone has told us that in these cars if the head is cracked, sometimes the alloy block of the engine may have been damaged as well. So, can we take this to an engine reconditioner and he fixes the head and the block etc if necessary, or does it need a new engine!- what would be the most economical way to go about it!thanks

take the engine out, and give the block and the head to the engine re-conditioner for testing, and a quote, then get a quote for a second hand engine, then make ur mind up. simple eh!
