wouldnt hurt to get the coolant temp sensor looked at, if it has one.

homer76, Jan 8, 5:28am
Uh she sold the car after realising it would cost more to fix than what she paid for it. She lost a lot of money through a poor buying decision.

rover79, Jan 8, 10:49am
Looks like the ones who done the repair on it in the first place didn't solve the problem.

lizshaw25, Aug 2, 10:39am
My BMW won't start. It flashed, "coolant temp" on the dashboard and there wassteam coming out of the bonnet. Then it stopped on a hill and I managed to get it towed to a garage. The radiator was replaced before Christmas. What is it likely to be!

3588434, Aug 2, 10:41am
Very likely to be the gear box.

mugenb20b, Aug 2, 10:45am
A good time to buy a new car.

lizshaw25, Aug 2, 10:46am
@3588434, how much do new gear boxes cost! It's an automatic.

jono2912, Aug 2, 10:49am
It's more than likely to be the cooling system, excuse his sarcasm.

lizshaw25, Aug 2, 10:49am
The cooling system being!

mugenb20b, Aug 2, 10:50am
S T E P away from the car!

jono2912, Aug 2, 10:51am

lizshaw25, Aug 2, 10:54am
Water pump, thermostat and radiator were all replaced before Christmas.

mugenb20b, Aug 2, 10:56am
Yes, but hoses can burst at any time. Were they replaced also!

jono2912, Aug 2, 10:57am
Be thankful they were replaced, more likely to be a hose.

lizshaw25, Aug 2, 10:59am
No the hoses weren't replaced. How much do they cost to replace!

mugenb20b, Aug 2, 11:00am
Which one! There are so many of them.

jono2912, Aug 2, 11:01am
Maybe say, $40 but $40ish labour!(per belt) Depending on vehicle/hose.

I'm not the the industry, so this may not be completely accurate.

andrea_w, Aug 2, 11:01am
OP : these are questions you need to be asking the mechanic once the fault has been diagnosed.

mugenb20b, Aug 2, 11:02am
A bit late now. She drove the poor thing till it stopped.

lizshaw25, Aug 2, 11:03am
@Jono, yeah had a look to see how much parts are.Yeah I'm seeing the mechanic tomorrow morning before work.

andrea_w, Aug 2, 11:06am
Yeah never quite understood that logic. ignore the warning till the car REALLY craps itself.

lizshaw25, Aug 2, 11:12am
I was on my way to a mechanic. It didn't make it.

The car won't turn on at all now.Is that the engine or could it seriously be as minor as a hose in the radiator!
