wouldnt hurt to get the coolant temp sensor looked at, if it has one.

Uh she sold the car after realising it would cost more to fix than what she paid for it. She lost a lot of money through a poor buying decision.

Looks like the ones who done the repair on it in the first place didn't solve the problem.

My BMW won't start. It flashed, "coolant temp" on the dashboard and there wassteam coming out of the bonnet. Then it stopped on a hill and I managed to get it towed to a garage. The radiator was replaced before Christmas. What is it likely to be!

Very likely to be the gear box.

A good time to buy a new car.

@3588434, how much do new gear boxes cost! It's an automatic.

It's more than likely to be the cooling system, excuse his sarcasm.
Water pump, thermostat and radiator were all replaced before Christmas.

Yes, but hoses can burst at any time. Were they replaced also!
jono2912,
Aug 2, 5:57am
Be thankful they were replaced, more likely to be a hose.
lizshaw25,

No the hoses weren't replaced. How much do they cost to replace!
mugenb20b,
Aug 2, 6:00am
Which one! There are so many of them.
jono2912,
Aug 2, 6:01am
Maybe say, $40 but $40ish labour!(per belt) Depending on vehicle/hose.
I'm not the the industry, so this may not be completely accurate.

OP : these are questions you need to be asking the mechanic once the fault has been diagnosed.

A bit late now. She drove the poor thing till it stopped.
lizshaw25,

@Jono, yeah had a look to see how much parts are.Yeah I'm seeing the mechanic tomorrow morning before work.
andrea_w,

Yeah never quite understood that logic. ignore the warning till the car REALLY craps itself.
lizshaw25,

I was on my way to a mechanic. It didn't make it.
The car won't turn on at all now.Is that the engine or could it seriously be as minor as a hose in the radiator!
