Car was broken into, so i think its about time i got an alarm.Called auto sound& security in chch today and they were going to charge $300 alone for installation, all up was going to be over $700. Any recommendations on who to go to in chch and how much rougly should it cost all up! Car is a mitsi cedia 2000.

Closing the barn door after the horse has bolted a bit!
I was quoted $700 to have my car tinted AND have an alarm installed, but it is a coupe and (so less tinting) and it is in Wanganui (so lots of business lol). I'm sure someone will come on here saying you need to buy something other than the 4-5 star rated alarms (there's another system that's miles beyond this, but I'm no expert. THink they were Cobra Alarms!).

Don't know about the Mongoose one (model wise) but that Uniden one is their top model I think.

there is only 3 brands of alarms that you should ever use: Cobra, autowatch and the top mongoose alarms

cobra's are real good reliable alarms. mate got one in his evo3.
i had an avs s5 in my skyline r33. also had a microwave perimeter sensor as well. the avs s5 had intelligent sensor that differentiate intrusion shock vs a truck going past n caused the shock.
