A while ago I posted and asked if anyone had had a similar sound in a VS Commodore ute. It sounded like a medium size dog woofing on the back when turning right. I had to take the back plate off the diff to replace the gasket due to a small leak, and noticed a little shiny patch on the middle of the plate. There is a bar that goes from the bottom of the left side to the top of the right side (part of the suspension I think) and bolted to this is a U bolted clamp which holds the weight sensitive adjustment for the rear brakes. This clamp was rubbing on the back plate of the diff and I couldnt see it doing it because the clamp hid the shiny patch. Replaced the gasket, adjusted the clamp and now all is good. Quite happy now as an unknown noise like that just makes me nervous as to what damage is being done.
