can anyone tell me what differences there are between these two utes, is it just the cosmetic stuff or are the engines and suspension different! Keep it simple, I'm only a joiner!

Suspension is harder and has more aggressive settings on XR's, in conjunction of course with a different wheel/tyre package. The SOHC 4L engines in AU XR6 utes have slightly higher power/torque output than the standard Intech fitted to an XL/XLS, some also had VCT which were slightly higher again.All normally aspirated BA and BF have the same output regardless of the model, you had to buy an XR6T if you wanted more power.If you want the three seat/column shift option this was only available on XL.

That plus the XL ute looks like a Futura (basic styling) where as the XR6 has a body kit, different headlights and bumper, fancier interior trim etc etc.
