New or Used and whats the budget!
Why petrol!
What are you doing with it, ie, school run, towing, off road!
What are you looking for 7 seats, economy, power, safety!

Used, $30k, prefer petrol, to be used by me mrs to run the kids around so i need 7 seats. Saftey would be top priority

Are you seriously suggesting a stretched Golf would be comparable to a Pathfinder or even a Captiva!

I have the 2.0 diesel LX Captiva.Really good car safe to boot.Stability control, traction control , Electronic brake distribution, Uses 4WD when loses traction not to mention 8 airbags and seatbelt pretensioners. The rear jump seats are great also as the fold down not to the side so doesn't take up room.My wife finds it very much like a car to drive and not too big.One downfall is their is no room for luggage when 7 seats are being used.
