My vz 2005 holden randomly clunks at the diff head , i believe its a problem with the spline on the drive shaft, has anyone else had the same problem and whats invlved to fix! sounds terrible but dosent have the noise all the time.

Mine does the same. Holden have informed me it is actually the LSD clutches engaging and disengaging. An oil change with the special additive does quieten them down.

Berg is right. My VX does it aswell

its just the LSD my VX does the same, its normal, don't let it worry you, but as said there is an additive to quieten it down i haven't bothered my self.

If it's a LSD,Castrol SF-XA or Penrite SIN-80 80w/140 or Nulon 100% Synthetic 80w/140

Think the LSD is the same as the Ford one, used Castrol the first time and just used Penrite which I think is quieter (LSD clutches engaging)

All the above products contain the additive
