Its a valet button. can't remember how it works.But I think you can press it and let the restaurant valet park your car with out the key remote. Great feature for N.Z.

Valet button allows the car to be cleaned (or whatever) by a valet company while the alarm is disabled.

It is an override switch. You can use it to switch the alarm into valet mode, and also bypass the immobiliser and start the car if the remote isn't working for some reason. When the alarm was installed you should have been given a code card with two numbers on it, which you need for the bypass mode. If you have a working remote you can reprogram the bypass numbers. Google "uniden 2600 manual" for the details. I had to use it once when I parked next to a TV transmitter and the remote wouldn't work due to the radio interference.
