i want to remove the stereo to get at the a/c controller which is bust. do i have to remove as much trim as it seems!

start at the bottom, the ashtray, and work your way up. All screws from memory.

Depends which model Legacy.An earlier '93-'98 or later '98-'03 shape.If it's an ealier one you don't need to remove the stereo, just remove the trim around the handbrake and then keep removing the trim working your way forward, remove the ashtray, the trim around the stereo, and remove the cupholder.Then the hard part is removing the trim around the A/C controller:It's not screwed in but clipped into place so tug at it and play around until it comes loose.Then remove the A/C controller.
