Just found a broken spring, was wondering what the problem was, have been right through the carbs, fuel pump, dizzy, electrics etc. Decided to finally lift the rocker cover and there it was, no 3 inlet, outer coil! As far as I can see, the coil is the same as a std Holden red 6 coil, lucky I have doubles or the thing would have made a hell of a noise. I have had the YT head since new in '91, if one has gone the rest can't be far behind, what recommendations do you fullas have as far as quality and manufacturer! In the meantime I'll chuck in a spare spring from a 'leftover' 173, I don't even have to take the head off! Cheers.

Just replaced the bugger, outer coil is std 6 cyl, inner coil is obviously narrower, but a coil not a flat damper. Purrs like a kitten again (angry kitten!) Just had Auckland cams do a new billet to go in the new engine I'm doing. will have this head when springs are also new, 1.6 Summit Racing roller rockers, no coil bind, never thrashed when cold, regular oil changes.
