Don't really know why you would want to put a heavy v8 in a subaru anyway! my 2.0T keeps up with late model v8s, its not standard thou and im on my 3rd engine but yeah.why the v8 in a subaru out of all cars!

i was under the impression that part of why subies handle like they do is because of the low center of gravity in their boxer configuration.from this i would've also thought you may not have enough height in the engine bay for a v8.

jasongroves, Mar 16, 8:22pm
You can put an 8 into almost anything;)
Check out Youtube for a few vids.

Even the flat six cylinder engine is a tight fit in the engine bay.

V-8 and Japanese vehicle = something non-Subaru

I'm guessing that's the point!

My neighbour did a similar thing with a 4wd sss bluebird, he cut the front axles close to the hub & manualized the steering rack, & dropped it in using the rear diff with a custom drv shft, was only a 4 cyl but.

Reasonably common to convert a 4WD to RWD.

tshop, Mar 16, 8:39pm
Yeap heaps seen a few RAV in Aus with V8s not that common here.

We had a 1uzfe powered wrx sedan enter our burnout comp a couple of years back. Was a tight fix but the gears were all up the piss for some reason. Might pay to check the rear end!

shouldnt bother the motor unles its been doing roll backs
