Canopy on a ford courier double cab.

Just wondering if anyone out there has ever fitted a canopy to a double cab ford courier ute! What I'm interested in knowing is if you had to take-off/cut-off the bars that cover the back windscreen to get it to fit! Cheers.

Yes you do, no way around it.

Thanks. Do you know if they bolt off or if you have to cut it off and grind it back! Cheers.

most you cut off with air saw or grinder with cutting disk. takes 5 mins as its thin steal. Just protect the cab well while doing it.

Sweet, cheers. Do you know if there's any issues with WOF's etc if you do it!

None whatsoever, it's not structural, just make sure you pop some primer over the cut steel to stop rust forming,

Nope none at all. its notstructuall item and certainly isnt no roll bar lol.
Just take your time doing it. Are you doing this yourself as theres a few tricks to them!

Is this a new canopy or 2nd hand one! do you have the fitting kit! and is it going onto a tuff deck!

It's a second hand canopy, I don't have a fitting kit and it has a paint-on type protective coating on the tray.

Thats ok. You need a roll of quality foam (weather proof) tape, sticky on one side only. Its about 40mm x10mmand you stick it to the ute on the 3 sides. Then you put a good layer of sealant over the tape and place canopy on top.
Its best to get your bolt holes or what ever securing method that ute uses first.
You will need to make sure door gaps are good as well as they need a bit of a squeeze together (the canopy) to bring it into line sometimes, then do holes. Put any wiring into a tail light.
Oh and clean your back window on ute as well, and the front canopy one.
They have 4 to 6 bolts as a rule. and we use a 2mm x 50 angle iron on the section were you cut the bars off. makes for a better seal.
Good luck, not to hard but a few traps if you new at it.

do you need to take the ute liner out or can it stay in to fit canopy
