Are the wheel arch flares originalyfiber glass or plastic & where can i get the rubber incerts!

SLR's didn't have flares.

cowboy110, Jun 23, 3:33am
Think about it.

cfs, Jun 23, 3:35am
What's to think about. SLR's didn't have them. L34's and A9X's did.

cowboy110, Jun 23, 3:35am
Rare Spares would be the people to speak to.

cowboy110, Jun 23, 3:38am
My apologies.You're right

lumpster, Jun 23, 4:08am
So im thinking about putting flares & bonnet scoop on my SLR what do you think! ps its a bare metal rebuild with a few non genup grades

They look cool with flares, but 99% have flares. Cooler to be flare less on a torana i say, unless ya a sheep!

whynot7, Jun 23, 5:59am
got to cut the rear doors and the gaurds to. dont do it.

rayzor14, Jun 23, 6:50am
Rear doors and guards do NOT require cutting. Plastic flares used to be available from Dominion Auto Supplies a few years back and were a much better quality than the fibreglass ones.

Why do you have to cut the doors & guards! My LH didnt have them cut when I bought it. Only reason you need to cut them is if you want to run a 10" wide rim & make it sit real low.
Flares make them look tough IMO, otherwise it just looks like a stock Torana.

guider1, Jun 23, 6:56am
Yes, the plastic ones are better. The glass ones split too easily.
Just make sure you use stainless cap screws or they'll eventually rust (unless you painstakingly paint them once tightened on the car).

Anyway, to answer your original question. I got the plastic piping (insert) from an upholstorer.

lumpster, Jun 23, 2:12pm
Any body have a set of plastic flares or know of any for sale!

klrider, Jun 23, 2:42pm
You dont need to do any cutting.

klrider, Jun 23, 2:42pm
Noooooo, use stainless, they look good.

I have a mate who had a genuine SLR and bought flares and american racing alloys for it off here.He sold the car but still has the flares and alloys if they are something of interest to you!

ofive, Jun 23, 4:33pm
:fail: If you dont cut the gaurds you cant lower it and fit big wheels.
Wont look tough with flares sitting in the clouds with 6 inch wheels lol

guider1, Jun 23, 4:40pm
Ummmm. isnt that what I said earlier!

ofive, Jun 23, 6:31pm
Umm , well yes doh. My comments were not too you.
