I agree with kaz here, this is the point exactly.

I can't beleive the amount of BS being spouted in this thread, or the amount of people who think they know the law better than those that are paid to enforce the laws.

Overall you need tyres to get the wof, i also need the cert to get the wof. I just rolled it up into one sentance for your simplicity.
In this case the WoF inspector and certifier are the same place and is the same person. I dropped it off once, knowing it would need tyres at some stage before passing WoF, rather than driving it around to get tyres and repairs only to get pulled over again.
So your saying i cant drive to get tyres before going for a WoF, knowing that they need replacing!

Can't say I did. It was late and I rushed the reply. Sorry about that.

Must have changed the rules or cop was being an a hole as used to beif you gotA WOF within 7 daystook it to police the ticked was waived .Well thats what I did about 6 years ago with an escorttook to certifier& had to make minormod to pass the cert then WOFThe cop told me to do it& all OK .Same as not carrying your licenceproviding you can produce it to cops within & dayswont prosecute .

I cant really be bothered with this thread anymore.

Pretty much my point was the cop was being a douche by not letting me finish my explination of why i was on the road, and gave me a ticket for no wof.
Basicly i dont really care about the ticket in the end but was wondering if there is any legal presedance as to how i could have been on the road legally.
If i was a cop (which at one stage i would have liked to be) i would hear each person out to a point and give them the respect that every person is entilted to.

To get it straight, this was 4pm on a Tues. Im not a boy racer, Dont wear baggy jeans or caps. im straight cut clean shaven and polite. Car is lowered but not excessively, (iv seen lower) not overly loud (iv heard louder on a regular basis) and i think i got a ticket PURELY because i am 20 and in a modified jap car.
Suppose government, public, and police opposition is just another hoop to jump through when modifing a car.
I can only see modifing vehicles will die out as the rules become much tougher, public opposition grows and the government refuse to step in to the social segrationg going on with their approval.

Funny that i am trying to make my car legal through their system but make it as tough as possible to make that happen.

My car has been made legal through their system. No problems at all. Regards

Probably needed new tyres from all the burnouts he did with the old ones, your car is a cop magnet.no sympathy.

ringo2, Jun 14, 11:02pm
Well if you had failed a WOF just because of the tyres being faulty and were going to get them replaced it would have been a different story. What you were doing was illegally driving an uncomplied, unregistered, unwarranted, unroadworthy, highly modified car on the road. I can sort of understand why the cop wasn't listening to your story and am a bit surprised that you didn't get more than a ticket for no WOF.

That's called using common sense and discretion. Something they don't do now since the government needs the money.

Yes, we must all drive white 1.3L Corollas. Don't dare deviate from that or you'll be an outlaw.
