Towing cherry picker into muddy situations

jason18, May 28, 9:20pm
Would snow chains help us get outta these situatioins of being stuck!

jezz43, May 28, 9:24pm
planks of wood wouldnt hurt. place them under the drive wheels and it should be ok

jason18, May 28, 9:40pm
Yeah we thought of that too. Will bring some wood with us. Cheers Mate

You can get more traction by lowering tyre pressures too, but you'll need a small portable air compressor to reinflate the tyres afterwards.

What is the tow vehicle and is it 4x4 etc !
Mud tyres are a primary consideration.
Mud chains can be custom made.
Then dual wheel combos.
Then air lockable diffs. etc

Can you winch, or tow it in with a strop from a firm location.

Chains will help in mud until you start digging a hole with them, then you have a problem.

jason18, May 29, 2:30am
Ok cheers guys, We had a 2wd ute which was usless but now have a falcon wagon which is probably more useless haha.

Borrow a tractor

mugenb20b, May 29, 2:35am
Try leaving the strop as loose as possible, and "launch" the ute as fast as you can. Don't use a tow ball or non rated D shackles.

got rid of the ute now. What about a winch that we could hook on towbar to winch cherry picker out!

pico42, May 29, 3:39am
Yes, they would - I am assuming it is a greasy surface type mud.

jason18, May 29, 3:49am
yeah its a car wreaking yard. Quite muddy,
