the-lada-dude, Feb 3, 8:42am
does the vehicle being towed on a " dolly " have to be reg & wof !
what about towing a vehicle with a rope / strop

intrade, Feb 3, 8:44am
if you hire a tow dolly you myght as well get a trailer for 5bux more.

the-lada-dude, Feb 3, 8:49am
that's not really answering my question, but ta anyway i/t
might make my own one.

fiatracer, Feb 3, 11:11am
yes it does

the-lada-dude, Feb 3, 11:24am
no it doesn't !
you need to go to spec savers

lordv81, Feb 3, 11:29am
The local hire centre reckons you do need wof and reg,and thats why there nation wide fleet has of dolleys has been deleted.Their reasoning was that any tyre touching the road must belong to a registerd and wof vehicle. But of course thats crap as that would make all tow hook trucks unable to tow anything thats out of reg or wof.

Why ask the question if you already think you know the answer!

mrfxit, Feb 3, 2:41pm
Apparently no.
BUT
In the event of being stopped by the police & or an insurance claim for an accident involving the "dolly", then having a wof & reg could & probably would make thingseasier to get through

At first glance of the heading " towing with a 5'8" blonde 36"DD "i thought the OP was talking about dolly parton having another arguement with her manager but after reading all these comments ,i just had to chuck my funny comment in.,lmao

I did wonder whether "towing" was some kind of sexual act indulged in by those with a foot fetish who couldn't spell.

taipan4, Feb 3, 7:56pm
"towing" is this anything like "camel toeing" LOL

Didn't Dolly Parton some land up the Auckland region!
Might have been Titirangi I think

jenny188, Feb 4, 7:31am
Any vehicle "on the road" needs a wof and regi regardless of whether it is under its own power or not ie car or boat trailer. Even if only parked on the street, they must be current. Only exception I know of is if it is registered as Agricultural machinery i.e a baler, then it must travel below 20 km's per hour and still needs its regi.

Ummmm no. See the link.
