My boss bought a brand new 2wd double cab in '06 for $29 000, 2.5 t.diesel. I'm not sure if got a fleet discount or something.

The price seems OK to me. Those utes are one of the best around, LSD rear axle, $hitloads of power/torque, good gearboxes, 20 minutes to replace the cambelt, easy to service etc. If you haven't already, take it for a drive, they are lethal. My Courier (same drive train) has done 400 000kms, still going strong, but has been well serviced.
