I just bought a 2004 S40, much against my better judgement because I was really looking to get an Alfa Romeo, but I have to confess, I really like it. It's no speedster but it's refined, comfortable, well behaved, uncomplicated, safe, it does everything right and it has lots of headroom which is good for me because I'm tall. Does make me feel a bit like I should be wearing a cardigan though.

Ha ha yes had a couple of people calling me nana when I said I was looking at a volvo. They just seem resonably priced compared with the Primera wagon i was looking at.
