1990 Nissan Safari speedo sticking at 60

Does anyone have an idea why the needle would stay on 60 when car is stopped. Even when reversing at slow speeds the needle goes to 60. I've had the dash out and the needle moves freely. Thanks

cable could do with some lube try crc tac too

Most likely the tip of the needle has bent inwards slightly
If you tap the face , will the needle slip down again.

XS1100, no cable - thanks anyway
MrFxir, definitly no bend on needle - when you tap the face it will go either up or down, does both. Squirted some WD40 onto the unit but as it is a sealed electronic thingy I think I wasted my time doing so.
Thanks

Its probably are poor soldered joint that is causing it, 8 years ago my safari speedo was going sometimes and other times not, took it out and to a place in newton Auckland and they fix a few of the soldere joints and from then never had a problem.

Yeah, probably a dry solder joint.
