The v8 results

Just looking at the results of the hamilton 400 and I thought that the winner of the round was the driver who scored the most points over the two races. Was this not Rick Kelly with 252 rather than Shane the Gizz with 207!
If so why was Van Gizzburgen given the round win!

Some one please elaborate for me.

I think each race is considered a round now. The first race was Round 5 and the second race Round 6.

If (P)Rick Kelly had've won the last race, and Van Gisbergen the first, then Kelly would've won the trophy. The "round" winner goes by who wins the last race of the meeting.

Help me out somebody if i'm wrong.

I didn't really take much notice of who came after "first"

No longer round wins, only individual race wins. The Mark Porter trophy always goes to the race 2 winner in Hamilton.
