Hi guys will this car be able to tow a car trailer and a 1.4 tonne car alright! Or will I need something a bit more powerful!

Providing you have a decent towbar rated for the job and if (and thats a big if) the cooling system is 100%, your trans is in good order and cooled properly, it should be OK.

Rated to about 1.6 Tonne braked with an appropriate tow hitch off hand. So you will likely be a bit over with the weight of the trailer. As mentioned, done carefully as a one off you should be O.K. But don't buy one to tow that regularly.

Oh ok, yeah I will only be towing it from Auckland to New Plymouth, just this once. Would that be too far to go even as a one off!

Is the Previa properly maintained, especially with regard to the cooling system and transmission. as in right up to date, and both the transmission fluid and coolant looking the correct colour!
If so, and assuming you take your time and watch your temperature etc carefully then it should be O.K. It is quite a distance though.
