jojo76, Apr 11, 3:39am
hi, our 2006 XR6 currently has dunlop sp3000 tyres on it.Like them apart from there roadnoise, cruising at 100km you get a wineing noise (sorry hard to explain).
Anyway can someone recommend another performance tyre that is quieter please! thanks

215/55R16! or similar - ask about Goodyear Performance Grip - they are a lot quieter than Firestones or Bridgestones on my car!

Be carefull the wrong tyres especially on the back can wear out quite quick due to the way the suspension is set uphttp://www.bridgestone.co.nz/tyres/product/id/Bridgestone_Potenza_RE001%20Adrenalin_235_45_17_94Wwas what I was advised to use on mine when I had it they were quieter than the dunlops it came with

I Like them as well however they will wear fast, they are grippy

They lasted longer than the orginal Dunlops

We live ruraly so roads are'nt the flashest! Not alot of city motorway driving, but we do do about 25000km a year, due to town being 35 mins away.

And yes the tyre size is 235/45 R17 for those who asked

Dunlop Sportmaxx SP is the way to go.
Reasonably quiet (lots compared to what you have on now, in fact), excellent grip, and decent treadlife - around 40-50km if driven in the sporterish manner.

As a side note, if you get the Sportmaxx SP asymetrical rather than the directional tyre, the ride will be even quieter.
