Got a towbar fitted to a new vehicle, would

you expect that the wiring and plug be fitted at the same time as the tow-bar!Or is that another job for someone else.to do!

anyone capable of fitting a towbar should be capable of fitting a plug to it, one is a bit pointless without the other, it should be part of the package.

Unless you stated then no. A lot of people get tow barsfor bike racks only. Also some cars are easy to fit plugs some need expensive diagnostic equipment extra computers added in and wires connected to can bus lines and cost $1500 which should only be done by the trained professional.

no separate job an engineer is not an auto sparky.

You are right. one without the other is pointless, Just naturally thought it would be a complete setup. Will wait and see what they charge. Thanks

depending how you read this, it can be understood in 2 totally different ways

I would say lack of communication between customer and retailer.

a tow bar is a tow bar. Wiring is another issue.

If you're getting it as an option on a new car, then I'd expect some wiring.Dealers do charge a fair bit for a tow hitch though.
