hi a mate of mine is doing the conversion to a interplay and keeping the 1500 gear box for now and will need to source a clutch setup,i was told the turbo cordia 215mm clutch works as they are about 25mms bigger but the pressure plate needs to be fitted to flywheel professionally, also will i use a mazda 1500 release bearing or the Mitsubishi bearing!thanks

why not use a mazda astina GT 1800 gearbox! they are commonly used for turbo FWD conversions in those cars. and they are quite a strong box

ok but i guess i will still need a clutch kit and a 1800 clutch prob wont be much good unless its a puk clutch so might just stick with the 1500 as there's nothing on trade me at the moment.so im really asking if anyone has use the 215mm cordia clutch, thanks

If your going to a 1800cc i dont think the 1500 box bolts up,

The box isn't a hard fit.I had a mate do this a few years back. the box was gone in a few months, I would wait til you can get a box thats worth messy about with, unless you have blown your GT-X one cos thats a fairly normal occurrence.

I wouldnt worry about getting a puk clutch, with fwd and a turbo even a piss poor standard 1800 clutch will have enough grip. its the wheels that are going to slip.

thanks, but why not get a puk,i was told a standard clutch would slip straight away.also do the 4 speed gearbox like 1300cc ones have better ratio than say the 1500cc box!
