I have a Nissan Primera P11, I was thinking what the oxygen sensor really does to the engine (I suppose the sensor is for the signal to the engine for rich/lean mixture). I unpluged the sensor, check engine light is NOT on, Idrove around and on the motorway. It seems made no difference for me. Everything seems running normal with or without it!
Thanks

with it unplugged it it just defaults to a closed loop circut, same as your car does when its 1st started cold for the first 5 min. The o2 sensor is only used at idle and cruising, when you floor it, it does not get used. with it unplugged you will be using more gas.

If its not making any differance whist unpluged it was most likely not working in the first place i f you replace it, it may bring your gas consumtion down and make your car cheaper to run
