Cutting a radiator core down?

skilsaw, radial arm saw, tin snips, grinder with diamond blade, fibroshears, jigsaw with downwards cutting blade, handsaw !

dont know where you go but i got quoted 600$ to clone my radiator in fully alloy by auckland radiator manufactoring place Recores are usually 160$

i will solder it up no problemsi dont want the core to tear or look pulled,The quote was from the tag off the radiatorfrom national radiatorsbut i had another firm price the tag,

So you need to cut 100 out of the middle, then will your tanks of the old radiator fit!

Perhaps find someone who is VERY handy at braising and see if you can carefully cut 100mm out and rebraise the ends and one of the pipe fittings back on! Might take a bit to trust it if you've spent$$$ on the engine though. I would suggest talking to a radiator specialist place first. Good luck mate.

No, but I think most things are possible given enough thought.
Why I said the middle is because isn't there a lip that the tanks sit in and you would need them on the ends!

Im a metalworker 20+ years at same shop, we used to change fittings etc corners of tanks etc pinch out and seal tubes etc on tractors trucks etcit was a common thing to do,Butive never cut a core lengthways,I have 3 radiators in various condsand am prepared to give it a go,
