Ok. You should be able to get one from nissan. You will probably have to supply the VIN for your vehicle, and proof of ownership in some occasions. It probably wont be cheap, those things never are

If its the same style as the same year pulsar they're around $300, have a look on eBay, a lot cheaper there.

yeah, I've looked at ebay, but i don't know enough to know which would work, as the Avenir doesn't seem to exist over there

Considering that you can buy a new generic key fob for Nissan off ebay for around $10-30nzd including shipping, and it took me less than 1 minute to google how to program it, I'd just buy one off ebay and give it a go. If it doesn't work then best to get one from Nissan NZ.
