Interesting. They say that behind every good man there is an even better woman. I'm glad Bertha got out in front a few times.

As of right now.

Volkswagen Group

No one else has invested as much in recent history (as far as I am aware). They have led the way of the last decade having succeeded in bringing forth exceptional new technology without the reliability issues other manufacturers have had trying to do the same. When the first of the big investment (in R & D) new models came out around 2004 (like the MK5 Golf) they just blew the competitors offerings right out of the water. Those models models were so revolutionary they are still better than what many competitors are offering now. 8 years later!

They consistently offer a significantly more advanced and better featured vehicle than the others for the same price, this is the case pretty much right across the range.

That said, some others like Ford are finally catching up, the monumental gap that was there is closing fast, but they are not there as of yet in my opinion.

VW havn't always been the market leader of course and who knows what will happen in the future. But for most of the last decade, they have been kicking some donkey.

I don't suppose your limited intellect could have worked out in advance that that's not really something that should be posted in this forum huh!

bellky, May 15, 3:35am
The only thing the Volkswagen Group has done imo is build the Bugatti Veyron.

bellky, May 15, 3:36am
Actually it's quite clever on a few levels.

redpheonix9, May 15, 3:47am
the story thus far

the swastika symbol has existed for more than 3000 years, and until hitler used it for less than a decade, the swastika represented good, not evil

richardmayes, May 15, 3:48am
I remember when those came out!

They sure 'kicked some donkey' with their electrics - there were heaps more of those driving around with one tail light not working, compared to any other new car.

bellky, May 15, 3:50am
How does an omnipotent intellectual feel now.

foxdonut, May 15, 3:53am
Nothing I didn't already know.

What captain google can't work out is that the meaning of the Swastika today is _NOT_ what it represented before the National Socialists adopted it as their motif in the late 20's.

Today it represents hate, genocide, racism, abuse and ignorance.

DAF. The first CVT transmission.

redpheonix9, May 15, 3:59am
i am sure that many buddhists and native american indians, amongst others, would vehemenently disagree with your above view of their sacred good meaning symbol, which is still used all over the world today, in its original sense, which is the complete opposite of how hitler used the swastika symbol

bellky, May 15, 4:06am
According to you. I've got an open mind.

foxdonut, May 15, 4:14am
The Bhuddist image is a different symbol dumbass.

You live in a westernised country that fought against the Axis in the second world war.

You know what it really means.

foxdonut, May 15, 4:15am
I don't dispute that. Anything you learn or read obviously falls out as fast as it enters.

redpheonix9, May 15, 4:25am
the swastika symbol saga story continues from post 34

I personally liked the way that the LOLs in the shape of a swastika, gave quite a different meaning and perspective to the bad connotation that a lot of people have been brain washed into thinking that the ancient sacred swastika symbol for positivity and good, should only ever be viewed in a negative and evil context, because of hitler and the nazi regime

I have never been a nazi supporter, nor will I ever be, I am just a person who tries to see the world from all angles and perspectives, thats all

"The name ???swastika??? is derived from the sanskrit word Su-asti meaning auspiciousness and good fortune and has been in use in India for a few thousand years. It is used as an auspicious sign on hindu temple walls, wedding invitations and religious texts. In more recent times a similar symbol was used by the Nazis and came to represent something completely different. However, in India this continues to be regarded as an auspicious sign."

bellky, May 15, 4:45am
Don't come at me on your high horse telling me what symbols mean - I'll be the judge of that. Thanks.

bellky, May 15, 4:48am
Yeah well ditto, obviously you like to keep everything simple and in little boxes; so you don't get confused I suspect.

redpheonix9, May 15, 4:50am
wheres that guy who is the boss of the night shift !the one who gets along really well with neutered foxes or dogs, or something like that, anyways

bellky, May 15, 4:58am
Did you get a warning for that!

pebbles61, May 15, 5:15am
BMC (British motoring corporation) - Produced some awesome and technologically interesting cars (i.e. Mini, 1100/1300, 1800 and Princess)

For motorcycles,

Triumph - Oldest motorcycle company going (unless you consider 1983 the end lol). My main reason for the choice is the retro styled bikes they do. Have the looks and style of the 60s/70s with modern day technology

redpheonix9, May 15, 5:29am
not sure bellky.nobody official looking has knocked on my door, and I just went out to the gate and checked my letter box, but there weren't any letters inside.so maybe its being sent by courier.

what does a warning look like, so I can be on the alert and look out for it, when it arrives!

maybe the warning will look something like this

Henry Ford invented airmail, 1st to put radios in airplanes, built planes for the war effort in a factory that was so big it was in two states [fact]. He invented the plastic derived from soya beans and was used extensively in the auto industry, started in cars only to develop them for racing which was his main passion, was well connected with the mob in the 20's when all the kidnapping was taking place, he considered his family to be at risk so got connected for protection. THE BEST THING about Ford Motor Company is that it still belongs and is run by the Ford Family, as is the New Zealand Ford Franchise still owned by the Colonial Motor Company that first bought it into New Zealand ie; the Gibbons Family, originally and still from Shannon.THE OTHER THING about the Ford Motor Company is it would not exist if it had not been bailed out not once but twice by the Dodge Brothers. Henry put too much time and money into motor racing and went bust a few times. What a MAN.
