thus the reason i use the xenon type series, which is plus 90's but they are crap. lucky if they last 3 months it was hellas take on the narva plus series and the phillips plus 80 but they are serioulsly lacking on life.

i got narva plus 90 and i always keep my lens clean with cut and polish, get rid of the fading and restores it to look near new. get rid of dead bugs and dust=D

Yip, but increased wattage does increase the heat and amps.

If you had fitted a relay would have fixed that!

Shane191--Its darn difficult to offer specific advice to you without knowing the year/make/model of your car.
My thinking would be to check the condition of the headlight unit and lens and try fitting new standard wattage bulbs. To light up the road I'd suggest a couple of aftermarket 150mm spotlights run through a relay.
You run your headlights on low beam to get the infill up close and the spotties will light up the road ahead.

sorry should of put car details in. its a 1996 subaru impreza wrx. headlight units are in pretty good condition for age. I'm not wanting to put in higher wattage bulbs as ive seen the probs they can cause to wiring etc without releys.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 14, 12:59am
Yes, you do, Johnny.

Don't worry. There's only one clown who thought you wanted to.

lol John_456 They are talking plus 90's these are stil 55/60 watt bulbs. You are correct in what you are saying but not applicable to +90's as they are the same wattage. Also CassandraJust for arguement sake hella, rebrand phillips and osram as their own.

johnf_456, Apr 14, 5:05am
Yes i am aware of that. Just at work i see a lot of people putting in high wattage bulbs with any due thought of the load on wiring. Or not to mention those "blue style" lights that boy racers like.

But yes some series of lights are called 100 or 90 for brand name.
