gidday there i have a problem with my 1.8 injected auto 1989 corona. It will just cut out when driving along. it starts perfectly fine and run sweet will sit there and idle all day but seems to be dying when put under load. does anyone know of this problem or had experience with these! cheers

I would be inclined to agree with Jase on this one, had a similar problem on a GX61 Cressida Grande years ago grabbed a pump off a wreck and problem solved for another 100,000km until I sold it.

Check the ignitor, sounds like that kind of fault.

Check the ignitor, I had a 4age Corolla give that symptom.
It would cut out under any load, but would idle perfectly happily.Then of course it was an intermittent fault, so took ages to actually diagnose.

Bad earth to coil / ignitor.
