Had a manual one back in the late nineties & for there time they were a bloody good car , they have no torque so need revs to get any decent performance , run on a oily rag though .

They are a very average Jap car, nothing more. Being a Suzuki it will be economical but the build quality doesn't seem to be as good as Toyota, Honda etc, most examples seem to have a lot of squeaks and rattles in them which can be annoying. They're also sold as a Cultus.

It depends on the engine. Most of the NZ new cars were 1.6 litre (some were 1.8) and some were specc'd with driver and passenger airbags and ABS brakes as standard - they were as I recall the first mainstream Jap car with these as standard. The 1.6 engine is pretty much bulletproof, and very economical. Some Japanese imports are only 1.3 litres, and they use more furl in auto, than the 1.6
