Wikipedia often doesn't include information about Japanese/Asian spec models (which the 1800 is)

not disagreeing for the sake of it but it might still be an old shape shorty with a belt drive "caldina" engine in it. I know 2000 was the change over year. I've only personally seen the 1800's as two wheel drive belt drives

Same here, but it was the later shape RAV4 with a 1.8 litre DOHC Corolla VVT-i motor (chain drive).

You don't need to say sorry. It is I that am sorry for not reading the link I posted completely first.
"The second generation RAV4 was originally offered in a number of trim levels . . . . . . A 1.8 L I4 engine (only with 2WD) producing 92 kW (122 hp)"
The perils of "cut and paste" replies.

Kaz - are the 3.5L Toyota Vanguard or Australian new V6 RAV4s available in NZ! I have seen Blade Master Gs advertised here and am keen to try their RAV4 cousin before replacing my current wagon.
Note to all Nanas - I am asking Kaz for advice, I am not attempting to break any rules!
