It appears that LTNZ has finally cottoned on to people registering their cars on Exempt A class & have made a change as of Aug 1 2011 to stop this. From Friday Aug 1 only the following vehicles can be reg Exempt A: 1: Pedestrian controlled goods & service vehicles. 2: Motor vehicles propelled & supported by self laying tracks. 3: Mobile machinery used on roads only in road construction zones in accordance with notices declaring such zones. 4: ATV's.

I know a guy who had a Skyline which didn't comply and he had it registered as a farm vehicle. Is that the sort of thing this is aimed at!
