Is it okay when buying tyres to trade in some

hounddog2, Jul 16, 4:48am
I have a full set of 245/45/18 re11 good tyres 3-4 mm tread sitting there.

Is it worth trying to do a deal with a tyre shop!

They wouldn't have much value with that amount of tread.

If they are expensive rubber it might be worth while to put them up on trademe.

hounddog2, Jul 16, 5:04am
560 each new so i would think so

turton, Jul 16, 5:05am
list on trademe, should get atleast $100 for the set.

gadgit3, Jul 16, 5:12am
3mm you say. only 1.5mm left in them till they no longer pass a wof.

Why ask us! its down to the individual tyre shop

List them on Trade Me - you'd be surprised by the interest you'll get. I've done that in the past a couple of times for performance tyres that I've gone in to replace as a set. $200 for a set even with 2-3mm tread allround and still warrantable. You'll find aboyracer will be all over that, or someone who can't afford full coin for a new set, but just needs to get through a WOF etc etc. Or who just has delusions of drifting.

good drift tyres.

nicolag, Jul 16, 9:39am
wicked tyre even 3mm tread would have amazing grip, they are bridgestones road track tyre, they will grip better in wet and dry than most new tyres, why are you trading themin if they got that much tread left

hounddog2, Jul 16, 10:48am

Just list and see what happens. Set a realistic reserve and you never know.
