ripco had the 4cyc and V8 models in their pamplet this morning. might buy the V8 for my 10yr old to build.

Still are. Invented by Herr Wankel, a German gentleman, IIRC. Something else you're inferring! Rotary engines have no up-and-down movement. They leave that to reciprocating engines. And their fanboys.
