Treating rust inside a sump?

Hey Guys, Bought a second hand sump that has been sitting around. Has been protected on the outside but the inside has surface rust. Going to attack it with scotch brite pad and that should do that but what about the areas I cant reach!

Rust Killer. I use a lot of one called Tergo.

Surface rust. wire brush and CRC. It'll never rust once installed.

Any rust treatment that has Phosphoric acid as the active ingredient will do the job.

jason, youshould look at an aftermarket sump. i have used hi enengy eliminator sumps in the past, highly recommended but not cheap, $7-800. they do a street version for less about $500. but i see procomp does one too, $150 aus. Im ordering a big block ford ASR sump, $345 Aust. soon, they are the first item on my shopping list when i build a motor now. I have just bought myself another 351 4V 4 speed falcon ute, so the big block might take a backseat for a while

Yeah I bought an aftermarket one but it bloody pisses oil out the front and pushes that rubber seal out the front like its bent! Will look at procomp one.
