Most economical 2.5cc ute in market ?

Hi looking at nissan navara 2.5s petrol and deisel
also mazda bounty 2.5 petrol and deisels
just wondering which ones are cheapest to run and also any ideas on
other options,I'm only interested in Japanese vehicles this time round.
looking at 17k range guess 2002 to approx 2006 etc

Most economical! Need a bit more info.

How many k's a year will you do!
Can you do your own repairs and maintenance!
Will you carry or tow lots of weight!

Of course, it's worth considering reliability too. If one pops a head, it will cost $2000 + to fix.

you won't find too many 2.5cc utes at all .you might have to look at 2.5 LITRE units !

don't know about ecconomical but reliable! go with the Mazda. i've had a few utes & the Mazdas have been hard to beat. i've had a 2.7 Navara diesel that also went well but the Mazda was a better ride hands down. forget Toyota, our company fleet Toyotas are a constant pita with dumb faults plagueing most of them. Mazda zoom zoom zoom.

If you are looking at bounty manual gear box models check that 5th gear is good as they tend to destroy bearings if they do much towing. The manual says 4th for towing.
