and why! Iv been pretty lucky with mine, prob because iv looked after and maintained well, so nothing to really post but least good one iv had, 89 Ford Laser (still bloody good but fell apart) inside door handles fell off, heater cable bracket broke, rear window wiper shat out, front window wipers slow and gutless.

at the moment, it's my Toyota Cressida. just when I thought nothing else needs replacing, there's always something else needing to be done. Grr. Don't buy cars off friends, and don't buy cars which have done over 500,000kms! It can't even redeem itself by being exciting to drive either.

Simca 1000

Reliability wise, 1997 Ford Escort S/W. I replaced the clutch and a cambelt as they needed doing, and kept it for a year as my work hack. Awesome little car, but the only thing that didn't fail was the body and seats. I replaced A LOT of faulty parts in my ownership. Every week or two, something would fail, like idle air control valve, or the alternator, ignition relay, etc. However, I still regret selling it to this day. It was practical, economical and went like a rocket.

I have a car done over 500000km that I would get into and drive to Wellington at a moments notice and expect to get there. All I would do is put petrol in and go.

My worst 2 cars are MK3 Cortina 2000E,forever needing something fixing-You name it it needed fixing-headlites,taillites exhaust coming loose everytime you drove, uncomfortable to drive, gas guzzler,.and the 2nd worst car -1989 Mitsi Galant with 38kms(NZ new,gen kms) big time oil drinker. Refuse to own another Mitsi ever.

oooooowwwwww, Jul 26, 6:21am
oh i had a 85 hyundai excel once. it was the biggest piece of sh1t you ever saw. it didn't have foot brakes, and would stall all the time (even though it was an auto). i would literally have to, when slowing down, slam it into neutral so i could accelerate to keep the revs up whilst braking with the handbrake.
oh and once i tried to drag a bus at the lights. the bus won, and the driver didn't even know i was trying to race him.

My worst was a Jap import Nissan Maxima, terrible suspension and a bench front seat, went round corners like a bloody couch too. Had it about 3 weeks and swapped it for a 1989 Nissan Laurel which I absolutely loved.

kdcentralni, Jul 26, 7:28am
89 Lancia therma! bloody something what a nail, swapped it for a floor rug - nice rug, had that for years

chebry, Jul 26, 7:28am
1976 Escort 1600 lived up to the name fix or repair daily it broke numerous clutch cables and the correct replacement was never available I rebuilt the steering rack, front suspension handbrake mechanism exhaust just keeping it mobile was a full time job never mind that it drove like a bag of shit with the fat tyres rubbing on the wheel arches, great fun to be had rush hour going down Maquarie street Hobart and the clutch pedal hits the floor dead starter motor and traffic lights to deal with, Thankfully on the way home one arvo the left rear wheel and axle overtook me on a corner that was it $350 from Cygnet wreckers and off to the pub to celebrate and began driving the Mazda 323 I bought for a case of Boags draught.

VL commodore. Only car I have ever owned that I have nothing good to say about.

gunhand, Jul 26, 7:37am
05 Murcielago, man was it expensive to run, tyres cost a fortune, rigorous maintance scedule (try finding something who knows anything about them) Sucked fuel like a 18yo nympho, parts hard to in NZ, wasnt as relaible as you would think, couldnt go over to bigger humps, Hard to get in and out of, rear veiw out of it wasn't good, couldnt leave it sitting anywhere unatended.
I tell ya more hassle than it was worth, so I sold it and got a Coon, far more sensable.
