What sort of car do you have, it may even have a cable operated clutch.

Sounds like yours might be going on the garage floor.

I think its a datsun ute,its the old farm ute we use for milk run, tonight its just stuck in gear cant get it out of gear and when you push the clutch in theres no resistance it just goes straight to the floor, thought it might have been clutch fluid!

Even you fix it with the fluid its likely to be a symptom of a greater problem if its leaking. If its a cable clutch a broken cable will do that too.

some older cars have a cable-clutch.

k, have been told its not cable clutch.

If you can't get it out of gear it's likely a gearbox problem I would have thought.

If you can pull it out of gear then shove it in 1st (or reverse depending on which way it's facing if on slope) and start it on the key - it should go and you can shift it then.

Ask James 007. or tell us the registration number or the make, model and year.

The clutch master cylinder should be on the firewall, next to the brake fluid reservoir. Topping it up may not be enough to get the clutch working as there is air in the system (ie. someone failed to open the bonnet once a week to check all fluid levels.), so will need to be bled and ultimately, the leak fixed.
