Good that sounds like the higher output version, the 2.1 apparently came in two different levels of tune. (although I don't think I have ever seen a low output one)
Assuming a similar size van body and weight of fitout, I would say while not a massive difference it should definitely pull the boat along a bit better.
From a technical perspective, you have a bit more power, a fraction more torque and (if my memory serves me correct) one more gear plus the extra responsiveness of the common rail system. The little bit in each of those area's should add up to a noticeable difference.
I think you will notice the most difference in the responsiveness, it should feel more nippy and car like in its acceleration and appear to have more extra power compared to your old van than it actually does on paper.
Nothing beats a test drive though, of all the Vans the Mercedes is the one I have the least direct personal experience with. I would be intrigued to hear how you find it by comparison.
