yes I think it would be a hemi as they where introduced in 1951

There were two versions of the Mopar 241. One was the Hemi, the other was a Poly. But if you are certain that you're after an engine from '54-'55, then it will most definitely be the Hemi version as the more mundane Poly wasn't released until 1956.
