i have a bighorn 4x4 wagon, it has been fitted with a aftermarket turbo timerdo i really need a a turbo timer what do they do! what are the benefit of fitting a turbo timer. cheers

So Turbos need time at low revs to cool down properly and not damage themselves thats why some cars have timers fitted . Get some advice from a turbo shop as to what the turbo on your vehicle needs

No real use really. Just a gimmick to make more money!
Only time you'd to possibly let the turbos cool down would be on the race track, or if its a Tow vehicle, after a heavy tow up a steep mountain for several K's.
Most race car people know not to turn the car straight off though, and you generally have a cool down lap.
If they were needed, manufacturers would fit them from factory.
