The remote for my 2001 Avenir W11 has a very short range, it only operates when very close to the car and at a certain angleYes, I have tried a new battery, no difference. It uses a little CR1620 button battery. Is this normal for a Nissan remote! Are ther aftermarket remotes available which may have better range! It's a remote that goes on the key ring but is not part of the key.

Do you have something sitting on the dash that might be interfering with the signal! Some cars can be affected by this

Go to Autokey.co.nz and buy a new rubber insert for the buttons on the fob/remote. It should magically work like new again. That's what worked for me. $10.00
Had the same, wife shredding the rubber buttons with her Talons of death.
