An apology to car drivers.

waiting for the counter arguement pulled out by cycleists.--"But I9 pay to use the road in my car "

mazzyz, Dec 29, 11:00pm
Why are the cyclists the only ones in here name calling!

pebbles61, Dec 29, 11:00pm
What ticks me off is that bicycle riders always get made to look like the good guys in the media. "Oh this poor cyclist got killed, oh this one got a boo boo on his knee" etc.then bikers get the opposite treatment "Oh that biker had it coming, shouldn't be riding at 100kph", get murder by the filth, they get a slap on the wrist.and then have to pay $530 a year for the privilege lol

If a 20 stone man was to bash up a baby it would be a bad case of bullying / violence / grevious bodily harm.
If a baby was to bump into a 20 stone man's leg it would be a small accident (or crash).
In your vehicle you are the 20 stone men, we are the baby on our bike.
If a cyclist does some illegal / unsafe move on their bike near your vehicle they are unlikely to do more than dent your vehicle.
If a driver does something illegal/unsafe move near acyclist they are likely to injure or do worse to the cyclist.

Dats da the riskofriding acycle in suburbia .Treat alldrivers as idiots , particulary parkedones,

kazbanz, Dec 30, 12:34am
Troggy-reconcider your post but lets assume the 20 stone man and baby are in a public bar at 7.00pm
See what I mean !

icemans1, Dec 30, 1:12am
i've seen a sign that said pass cyclists and leave a 1.5m gap between you and them i'm like WTF! ya gotta drive on the other side of the road into on coming cars to pass them

icemans1, Dec 30, 1:16am
net_oz do you pay road tax or ACC levy on ya bike!

trogedon, Dec 30, 2:48am
You wait until you have a clear road ahead to pass - just like (hopefully) you would with any vehicle you pass.

trogedon, Dec 30, 2:50am
Anybody who pays rates pays for the roads = house owners, indirectly their kids, renters, business owners.

trogedon, Dec 30, 2:50am
Its a joke right! A take on the two men walked into a bar.

a.woodrow, Dec 30, 3:06am
Vehicle owners pay a direct levy to run their vehicles on the road in licencing costs, cyclists don't. Have a short fuse when it comes to cyclists, been stuck behind too many who think it's ok to ride two, three or four abreast holding up traffic, then have the gall to give you the fingers when you toot at them

No i don't. Just like i don't pay road tax and ACC taxes on the shoes on my feet.
I do pay ACC taxes and all the other taxes for the 2 businesses i have and the 12 staff that work for me. Just like i pay taxes associated with the vehicles i operate.
Taxes and roads are about as relevant as chalk and cheese.

trogedon, Dec 30, 3:10am
Who has a short fuse!

pebbles61, Dec 30, 3:12am
Well going by that argument I shall not pay my motorcycle ACC any more, seeing as I pay for it via other means _b

johnf_456, Dec 30, 3:12am
Cont.
Then run red lights and give you the fingers for tooting to say watch it, riding on footpaths, causing traffic to bottleneck on narrow roads. Some westy roads are only wide enough for a car let alone giving room for a cyclist and his 1.5m! with a double yellow to finish it off.

Most motorists as you can see OP find cyclists a nuisance on the road.

johnf_456, Dec 30, 3:13am
A lot of cyclists as shown in this thread.

a.woodrow, Dec 30, 3:20am
I have, edited

trogedon, Dec 30, 3:23am
Sadly Johnunderscorefourfivesix find you a nuisance on these boards.

johnf_456, Dec 30, 3:24am
No need to name call like that and cyclists most of the time are as above.

a.woodrow, Dec 30, 3:28am
facepalm you missed out the "f", ergo you name called

kazbanz, Dec 31, 3:48am
Nope-1) the bar is paid for by the 20 stone blokes drinking -ie he paid to be there
2) The baby's parents should do everything they can to avoid conflict with the 20 stone man as the baby is always gonna come off worse.
3)--ohh theres about 20 more---you see what Im saying.
Beat ya chest as much as you like at the end of the day every roadf user has to do all they can to ensure their safety.

joanie32, Dec 31, 4:23am
See theresthe difference. Everoneknows babys shouldntbe in bars, and Im yet to see one article claiming they have the right to be there. Babys dont belong in barsanymorethanbicyclesbelongon roads, its prettybasic common sence.

trogedon, Dec 31, 4:45am
You've got the "basic" as in your thinking but you haven't got the "common sence". Its 'sense'.
