Cleaning a honeycomb radiator

javlin, Jan 6, 10:10pm
Any tips appreciated. Have put a commercial mixture through it which has helped but hasn't removed all of the corrosion. These can't be rodded because of their design. Phosphoric acid has been suggested. The only supplier that I can find can only supply 20 litres. Some one else suggested using a cow shed hose. Anyone who has had any success with this please let me know what you used. Thanks . (A replacement core will be about $3,000.00).

Take it to a radiator shop. They are usually quite good at making the impossible happen.:o)

Tried that. Miracles must have been off the menu that day.

could go see the local engine reconditioner or local electroplater and see if you can get it dipped in one of their tanks

ANY chemical that will eat corrosion, will probablyeat the rest if left too long.

Try to find a mild corrosion eating chemical & do a few more soaking flush's.

Personally I would probably seal it up with a cleaner & strap it to the top of a vibrating bath (metal parts vibrating polisher) for a few minutes.
