Jazz. A while ago you posted a comment on here regarding the reliability of the 2.2 camry. I happen to own one of these . It's an ex taxi with nearly 400,00 K's on the clock. Ive known the car since new in 2002, and it has never given any problem what so ever engine wise except a new alternator. It is an extremely comfortable car although a little underpowered, and maybe a little thirsty for a 4 cyl. butit is a delight to drive. What is so bad about them, when probably about 90% of the taxi fleet in Chch and possibly elsewhere is Toyota, and has been for a long time. Love to hear your comments.

I'm not Jazz, but the Camry is only let down by its lack of character, pretty bloody boring to drive, no style, grey plastic everywhere, etc. But, it's bullet proof, you can thrash them as much as you like, they just don't die. There's one here in our area used by a vet, done 450k, broke a cambelt once, no damage, looks like junk, still going strong.

Good on ya mugen, thats what I like to hear. Here's a speights, lol.

Jazz is out right now, this is his fridge speaking.I've put your request to him and he has released the following statement: *clears throat*

"The 2002 Toyota Camry 2.2 is a truly excellent piece of engineering which is likely to be very reliable, comfortable to drive, cheap to repair and maintain and will likely give you the ability to attract many gorgeous female companions with outstanding assets."

Thank You.

Another speights for the fridge

johnf_456, Feb 23, 3:01am
reggienz he loves his euro cars with a passion, so anything Japanese is frowned upon despite how reliable they are.

reggienz, Feb 23, 3:04am
I know, here's another speights. lol.

austingtir, Feb 23, 3:08am
Jazz told me he is off collecting his cheque from VW right now. He'll be in later to tell us we're a bunch of trolls.

johnf_456, Feb 23, 3:10am
Then you get these sort of comments of him saying things like the above.

phillip.weston, Feb 23, 3:20am
As much as I agree on how reliable they are, I just think they are the most mundane boring as f**k car ever produced. There is nothing in the slightest exciting about them. They are merely a kitchen appliance designed to get from A to B and that's it. Having owned a Camry before, I don't think I will ever own another again. I don't care how reliable they are, I would just prefer not to snooze at the wheel while driving a car again.

I would gladly drive something slightly more unreliable that is at least enjoyable to drive and has more features such as leather interior instead of the most horrible hard shell plastic interior you would find in a Camry.

Makes me want to vomit even thinking of a Camry again.

austingtir, Feb 23, 3:21am
Carefull next you'll be telling us that a passat is exciting to drive. You know where that leads!LOL.

phillip.weston, Feb 23, 3:22am
and for the record I have owned plenty of Toyotas before ranging from a TE71 Corolla liftback to a VG40 Century V8 limousine. I like many Toyotas, just the Camry is not one of them.

phillip.weston, Feb 23, 3:23am
New Passats are OK but it's too early to tell how reliable they are. Earlier Passats were a dog, and again nothing special over their Audi counterpart.

johnf_456, Feb 23, 3:26am
There is no need for comments like that above name calling and such comments. After a night I could not care about perfect grammar. Message boards are laid back bloke atmosphere not for some to think its a English test and insult. Its a place where blokes come to socialise, I think some are in the wrong place.

reggienz, Feb 23, 3:30am
Here here. Have another speights

austingtir, Feb 23, 3:33am
