We have a subaru imprezza. If has just started making a blow off valve sound and boosting real hard. It does not have a blow off valve. Is this going to cost us! Is it the boost controller!

yea go see a mechanic to get the turbo wastegate operation checked myght be seezed or something. You need somone who knows about turbo and how to check things

http://www.youtube.com/watch!v=29gxsPrU9nE 1minute 52 the wastegate opens these can seez shut or open. seezing shut will result in turbo blowout seezed open makes swoshing noises and power loss. there is otherturbos also dont know what charger your car has my vw has variable turbo blade adjustment no wastegate for extreem boost at lowrpm already called a vtg= variable -turbo-geometrc. chargerthese can hang also especially if you drive them like a nana all the time the little blaed taht change the pitch seeze up. http://www.youtube.com/watch!v=kENxjxhoP24

Most likely a hose has fallen off the wastegate actuator or has perished and has a leak. Dont drive it hard, you could end up melting pistons.
