Is there a way to tell if a radiator cap needs to be replaced!

yea when you buy a new one for 8 to 18$ and you dont lose no water after. thats how you know the old one was bad. make sure its the right pressure one for the vehicle 80% of problems on cooling systems are from faulty caps.

I'd suggest - if you suspect it might be, then just replace it and rule it out.

OK. I'll replace it and see if the problem of coolant gushing out of the expansion reservoir goes away.

or if youdont want to spend the money take it to a mechanic and they ll pressure test it for you and charge you accordingly
