Heading is slightly misleading as 4.2 was the straight six, 5.3 was V12. I guess all 5.3's were automatic though.
Did one at college as a project. Was a Pommy 'D' plate so 1966. The lecturer looked underneath it on a hoist, said it had had part of the floor chopped out previously, which was a garage short-cut to get the gearbox out. We then removed the engine and box together as a unit as that was the factory recommended way.
