Jazz and others, your thoughts please

Just another thought I have been meaning to mention. With any car where you will need the rear seats folded down to accomodate your walker, make sure that you can still put the drivers seat in a comfortable position with the rear seats down.

Lots of cars (especially small ones) don't have the full range of motion of the drivers seat with the rear seats down, so you may not be able to get comfortable. That's where the likes of the Picasso is so good because the seats are entirely removable giving you a lovely big flat floor cargo area.

On some cars you can negate the issue by just folding the left rear seat down, but this doesn't always work as anticipated.

Also. in fairness to the RAV I forgot to list your criteria of being easy to drive/park in town. Obviously a high driving position and fairly small exterior dimensions do give it a tick in that respect.

Paddy-its pretty well know around here that when it comes to things automotive Jazz and I agree on very little However in this case I happen to agree with his post above regarding the RAV 4 100%
To nail in coffin even more.
The seats will be an utter nightmare to get in and out of and to sit in as they are heavilly curved. You cant just sit down on the edge of a rav seat and slide in. They aren't as roomy as they look. They are loud, the tyres cost 1.5 the price of any other car.
Fuel economy honestly is about that of your falcon.
THE above is based on you looking at the 1994-2000 model rav 4

Paddy-please understand I do this for a living. I would have some pretty darn annoyed customers relatives if the vehicle didn't perform as required.
You will find that the Toyota Funcargo 1500 will fill every requirement you have
First of all they have a fairly high profile tyre. 185/65/14 The importance of this is that the tyre sidewall flexes a bit when you hit a bump increasing the ride comfort.
second they have the same wheelbase as the 2001-2005 Toyota Raum/corolla/allex /runx at 2700mm.The importance of this is that this makes it more stable on the open road and feels a LOT less harsh than the small econoboxes.
Third-The door hole is 1.2m x 1.0m useable -equally important that hole starts 300mm off the ground so this means 1.5m/5 feet is how low your head goes to get in
seat height from the ground is 650 mm or 2 foot 2 inches. its 330mm from floor to seat That's about 6 inches higher than most "normal" cars.
The back row of seats fold completely into the floor giving you a HUGE area to put your walker into either via the back door which is a big side opening type or the left rear door which is a normal door.
The Porte shares the Funcargo's dimensions except it is actually taller
You would as I explained use it differently to the Funcargo. You would walk into the left side door with your walker and sit in the drivers seat. The left side door is 1.65 high x 1.2 wide. you literally step straight in.--I don't have one here to measure the seat height but from memory it was 700mm from the ground.
I know its a bunch of numbers but when comparing for your purposes those numbers become really important.
